First-group French verbs: the -er pattern
For a regular -er verb, remove -er and add the present-tense endings: -e, -es, -e, -ons, -ez, -ent.
Je parle français. Nous parlons français.
I speak French. We speak French.

Some first-group verbs change their spelling to preserve a sound or stress pattern. Compare nous mangeons, nous commençons and j’achète. Their tables show these changes. Aller is an irregular third-group verb.
